Import lyrics and chords
Import Lyrics and Chords
The following settings are applied at the time of import. They therefore affect only newly imported lyrics and chords, not lyrics and chords that were imported earlier. If you want to apply the settings to lyrics that have already been imported, you must import the song lyrics again.
| Setting | Standard value | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Proportional font for MP3/MIDI/LRC/ChordPro import | On | Uses a proportional font when importing from MP3, MIDI, LRC, or ChordPro. When this option is enabled, a proportional font is used where not all characters have the same width. Otherwise, a monospaced font is used. |
| Import chords | Yes | Defines whether chords should be generated when importing the files mentioned above. Optionally, only larger line spacing can be generated so there is enough room to add chord symbols manually later. Available values: - Yes - No - No, but line spacing for manual chords |
| Song position (red dot) by line only | Off | Defines whether the red dot should show only the current line even if the MIDI file contains syllable-by-syllable positions. |
| Font size of imported song texts | Medium | Selects the font size for automatically imported lyrics. Available values: - Very small - Small - Medium - Large - Very large |
| Preferred chord view | C, Cm,... | Defines which notation SongBook+ uses for recognized chords. Available values: - C, Cm,... - Cmaj, Cmin,... |
| Set start position MIDI-QuickStart at import | Off | Automatically sets the start position for Midi-QuickStart during import. If you play MIDI files on a keyboard with a QuickStart function, the keyboard usually skips the first bars, which contain instrument settings but no notes yet, and starts directly with the first note. When importing lyrics from MIDI files, SongBook+ can likewise set the start point to the first note so the red dot position display matches the MIDI file played on the keyboard. |
| Import song lyrics automatically | On | Automatically asks when opening a song whether found lyrics should be imported. When enabled, and the song does not yet contain a PDF file when opened but lyrics are found in the files mentioned above, SongBook+ asks when opening the song whether the found lyrics should be imported. |
| ChordPro text formatting | Additional settings page. |
TXT Files Display
The following settings affect text files (with the .txt extension). Since text files are converted into a temporary PDF file each time they are displayed and then shown that way, the settings immediately affect the display of all existing text files, not only newly inserted ones.
| Setting | Standard value | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Proportional font for TXT files | On | Uses a proportional instead of a monospaced font for text files. When this option is enabled, a proportional font is used where not all characters have the same width. Otherwise, a monospaced font is used. |
| Font size for TXT files | Medium | Selects the font size for imported text files. Available values: - Very small - Small - Medium - Large - Very large |
| Larger line spacing in TXT files | Off | Increases line spacing in imported text files. |
